The Johns Hopkins Hospital

The Meyer 6 Geriatric Psychiatry/Pain Treatment Unit includes 9 geriatric inpatient beds, 11 pain treatment inpatient beds, and also has 2 partial hospitalization programs that serve as a stepdown for each service. The unit specializes in the treatment of medically complicated elderly patients with severe affective and neuropsychiatric disorders. The Pain Treatment Service evaluates and treats those with intractable pain, in addition to treatment of the psychological distress that accompanies this condition while improving physical functioning for this patient population.

The Lead Clinical Nurse provides guidance and direction to staff and acts in the absence of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager to oversee a clinical team during care delivery and unit operations.

Shifts: 12 Hour Day & night rotating

Qualifications:

  • BSN/MSN from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
  • BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
  • The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of acute care RN work experience
  • Ability to lead others, assist in development & implementation of procedures for the unit, use principles of conflict resolution, recommend resource utilization, and implement performance management of staff.
  • RN work experience in the cardiac surgery specialty is preferred.
