The Johns Hopkins Hospital

 

Thoracic / Urology Surgical Unit (Zayed 11 West) is a 32 bed surgical unit caring for adolescent and adult patients. The unit offers 3 levels of care for Thoracic patients: floor, telemetry, and 6 intermediate care beds. Care and services provided: thoracic (lung resections, pneumonectomy, esophagectomy), urology (RRP, TURP), and general surgery patients.

 

Shifts: 12 Hour Rotating, Day / Night. Shifts

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Active Nursing Assistant Certification in Maryland is required
  • 1 year of acute care (hospital) tech experience during the most recent 2 years is required (EMT or CRT experience may be considered)
  • BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted

 

Clinical Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the opportunity to provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as a contributing member of the health care team. Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.
