Medicine / Telemetry Unit, Nelson 7 is a 23-bed medical floor, with capacity for 12 patients requiring telemetry. On this unit, you will provide care to complex medical patients, specializing in acute and chronic cardiac disorders (CHF, cardiomyopathy, acute MI, dysrhythmia, etc.).  The unit has a family-like feel and are known to celebrate JHH diversity through their international potlucks. The staff are adept at encouraging one another and fostering positive relationships across all disciplines.

 

Shifts: 12 Hour Night Shifts

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Active Nursing Assistant Certification in Maryland is required
  • 1 year of acute care (hospital) tech experience during the most recent 2 years is required (EMT or CRT experience may be considered)
  • BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted

 

Clinical Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the opportunity to provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as a contributing member of the health care team. Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.
