The Johns Hopkins Hospital's Nurse Educator is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for nursing staff on unit. Applies nursing, adult learning, and other theories as appropriate. Functions as an educational advisor to unit nursing staff and facilitator for continued development. Reports to the Functional Director of Nursing/Designee.
The Radiation Oncology Service provides care to both Adult and Pediatric patients. Standard and research-based radiation therapy is provided for patients with malignant and non-malignant diagnoses. Our interdisciplinary team is specially trained to treat specific cancers and we liaison with other Johns Hopkins experts to create individualized treatment plans for each patient, using targeted technologies including Proton Therapy and procedures such as Brachytherapy. Our patient safety program - cited as one of the best in the nation - employs quality assurance protocols and innovative techniques to ensure the safety and well-being of all of our patients.
Shifts: 8 hour day shifts, no weekend work required
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited school of nursing and coursework in curriculum development, evaluation, or adult education.
- Active Maryland or Compact RN license
- BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network
- 5 years of full time experience in area of specialty
